Working on Strengthening Integrated Delivery of HIV and AIDS Services (SIDHAS – FHI360), APIN (CDC), ENR (PLACE, PEP, STAR) we have implemented several interventions with in-school youths, out-of-school youths, uniform service personnel, female sex workers, transport workers being part of Most-At-Risk-Populations (MARPs) and the general populace, under prevention. HIV Counseling and testing (HCT) have been the gateway between prevention and treatment in our activities.
ORPHANED AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN
Working on impact mitigation of HIV Infection to cater for the needs of Orphans and Vulnerable Children using psychosocial support, food and nutrition support, health support, educational support and other services including household economic strengthening for their caregivers through the support of AONN, ARFH, APIN, HWWN, GF, SCI etc.
HUFFPED has been working on Tuberculosis prevention through the use of community volunteers using advocacy, community and social mobilization as tool for intervention deployment.
The three most important thematic areas of Malaria prevention such as Integrated Vector management (IVM), Intermittent Prevention Therapy (IPT) and distribution of Long Lasting Insecticide treated Net (LLIN) have helped in the reduction and spread of malaria in community outreaches and interventions.
Women are empowered to participate in governance through series of advocacy, trainings and other relevant interventions that encourages participation in politics.
Collaborating with Government agencies and MDAs to supervise and enhance good health systems in the States of intervention.
Water and Sanitation issues at it relates to climate challenge are intervened in communities where needs assessments depicts the relevance of such projects.
Youth development interventions through life skills and youth friendly activities are carried out during specific interventions.
The United Nations programmes on gender activities help to deploy necessary implementation of adequate support and assistance to women in need.
MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH
The Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Program on Maternal and Child Health (SURE-P MCH) in which Doma Education Development Foundation (DEDF) was the Principal Recipient, collaborating with Humanity Family Foundation for Peace and Development (HUFFPED, Lagos), was set up by the Federal Government to create awareness on maternal and newborn mortality in Nigeria. At the center of the plan is the pregnant woman who must know that selected primary healthcare centres have been upgraded with drugs, health commodities and equipment supplies for efficient and effective service delivery. The project was basically about carrying out high level advocacy visits to stakeholders and influencers and to increase and sustain awareness on issues bordering on MNCH.
